Listen and learn as the members of Vianna Bergeron Brazilian Jazz guide you through an historical, cultural, and musical consideration and demonstration of three Brazilian musical genres: choro, samba, and bossa nova. Each was the dominant popular music of its time — and all continue to have great cross-generational appeal in Brazil and internationally. VBBJ's four members all have ties to Western Oregon University: Dr. Tom Bergeron is Professor Emeritus of Music, Rosi Bergeron is a graduate of and former adjunct professor in WOU’s Master of Rehabilitation Counseling program, Dr. Cassio Vianna and Wagner Trindade both earned the Master of Music degree at WOU, and Cam Siegal earned the Master of Arts in Teaching at WOU. *Please note: attendees must adhere to WOU live events COVID safety protocol.
